Many of us make the effort to have home security systems with video surveillance cameras installed because we do a lot of traveling for business. Guarding our personal safety and our valuables should extend to us no matter where in the world we are. Here are a few tips to consider if you do a lot of travel by air:

• Never let your bags and your laptop computer out of your sight
• If you need to walk away from your bags, only trust a uniformed security guard to watch them
• Be aware of people bumping into you “accidently” – this is a common trick used by “pick-pockets”
• Keep your wallet or purse close to your body and well concealed
• Make a list of valuable items inside your checked bags, take highly valuables items with you onboard the plane
• If you are taking expensive electronics or jewelry on your trip, keep it hidden while you are traveling
