Sorry to tell you this, but the FBI says 1 out of every 6 homes in the U.S. will be burglarized this year. That’s a staggering statistic if you stop and think about it, yet most of us think it will never happen to us. With the stats as high as they are, it’s pretty likely it will happen to one of us especially if we don’t implement some protective home security solutions.

• If you have a hollow door of any of the entrances to your home, think about changing it for a solid model – not so easy for an intruder to kick it in
• If you have glass panes in your doors, make sure you install a double cylinder lock – even if a burglar breaks the pane he doesn’t have a key to unlock if from the inside
• Some thieves are so gutsy they’ll bust their way in even if you are there – install a wide angle peephole in your door so you can get a good look at who is out there

For your information, motion sensors can be set up to protect the perimeter of your home so that you can move around freely inside. If the perimeter is breached you’ll know about it right away.
